interNATIONAL NANNY TRAINING DAY--DENVER 

National Nanny Training Day (NNTD) is an annual training event for Nannies created by Nanny Biz Reviews (more info available from NannyPalooza ), as a part of a national initiative to promote awareness of the important connection between nanny training and quality of care. On Saturday, April 21, 2018 over 2,000 nannies from 32 cities across the world will gather in their local communities for a day of empowerment, training and development


SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

 9:00 AM   –  Safe Sleep, Reka Cachat AND Car Seat Safety, Casey Marricle

                        Safety of our charges is our number 1 priority. During our keynote session Safe Sleep and Carseat Safety will be discussed. THIS IS NOT A CERTIFICATION IN EITHER TOPIC, just basic information. Learn the most up to date info on safe sleep for infants. Find out how to approach the topic with the families you work with. We will also discuss best practice for car seats, how to make sure they are installed and used correctly and how to talk to parents about children being safe in their cars!

10:45 AM  –    Nanny Share Panel, Panelist

                        Get all your questions answered on what a Nanny Share is and how they work. Panel will include 2 nannies very familiar with nanny shares, a nanny and parent currently in a share together, a share parent, an agency that specializes in placing shares, and the owner of an online nanny share network.

                        Creating a Quality Curriculum in Early Childhood Care, Stephanie DaSilva

                         Learn the steps to creating a curriculum and how to adapt it to include different ages. You will learn the areas and skills to focus on at home and find some great resources! The group will help create a sample curriculum and participate in an educational activity.

1:15 PM   –   Arts-Based Approaches to Discussing Social & Emotional Challenges, Heather Kennedy

                        Caregivers are on the front lines supporting young people, school age-teenagers, in times of emotional challenges. This session will include an introduction to an arts-based toolkit that aims to challenge unproductive narratives regarding mental health and supports youth in focusing on and fostering social and emotional wellness. After an introduction to the toolkit, participants will get to experience at least one of the arts-based activities and engage in discussion around what additional supports are needed to effectively support young people in times of mental duress.

                        Literacy in the Early Years, Gigi Pagliarulo                       

                        This presentation will focus on the science behind how early literacy helps brain development. We will focus on what we as nannies can do to help that growth. The five literacy practices will be discussed in detail: reading, talking, singing, writing, and playing.

2:45 PM   –   ABC Nannies "Nanny of the Year" Award

3:00 PM   –   Team Nanny Warrior

                        Teams will compete in a relay of nanny related challenges to see who are the most skilled nannies! The fastest two teams will move onto the finals where the obstacles will be even harder. The winning team will win the title of Team Nanny Warrior and a special prize!   Participation not required! Use this time to network, watch, or join in, whatever works for you.

3:45 PM   -     Closing Remarks and RAFFLE



Denver Area Nanny Association is pleased to host National Nanny Training Day Denver!  We look forward to welcoming nannies throughout the metro area for a day of education, professional development and socialization!  In addition to 5 great training sessions, ideal for nannies in all stages of their career, we will also have swag bags, raffle prizes and a delicious lunch. Who should attend? All Nannies are welcome to come who are eager to learn and network with other nannies.

Can I get a refund? Space is limited for this event so we will not offer refunds.

What to wear? Please dress business casual and bring a sweater in case it's chilly.

Do you need to bring a printed ticket?  No, we will have a list at the door of all registered attendees. Let's save a little paper...no tickets needed!

Can I sell my ticket if I can not attend? YES! Please contact us so we can make the change on our attendance list and have a certificate ready in the correct name.
